'Black Swan' Interns Suing Fox Searchlight Did not Really Work with Fox
File under: you'll most likely never operate in the town again? Based on Fox Searchlight, the 2 'Black Swan' interns who filed a suit from the studio declaring it violated minimum wage and overtime laws and regulations never really labored for Fox Searchlight. Small detail! Since we now have had an opportunity to review this suit, it's obvious these are completely meritless claims targeted exclusively at getting press coverage for that litigants as well as their lawyers. These interns weren't even maintained by Fox Searchlight and, actually, were employed by the development company that made 'Black Swan' prior to Fox Searchlight even acquired its privileges within the film. These people were never employed as interns or maintained in a capacity by Fox Searchlight, with a proud good reputation for supporting and fostering productive internships. We anticipate strongly fighting these groundless, opportunistic accusations. Oops! For his or her part, litigants Alex Footman and Eric Glatt are trying to find class action lawsuit status for that suit, which apparently has over 100 former delinquent interns from Fox Searchlight film productions onboard. Think about this legal mess the next time you signal an intern to enable you to get Local cafe. [via Deadline] [Photo: Fox Searchlight] Follow Moviefone on Twitter Like Moviefone on Facebook
